About Us & Our Chickens

About Us & Our Chickens

We currently have roughly 40 chickens (more hatching) . We started with 7, so you can say that chicken math has fully taken over. We got chickens in 2022 and the obsession over egg color came a year after.

I have spent hours and hours researching breeds, temperaments, egg colors, and much more to create the egg colors we have now. I have spoke with many different local farms, read blogs, and done my own research.

We have multiple different breeds as we breed for egg color, not breed specific. I have spent a lot of time researching to create beautiful shades of greens and browns, some with speckles and some solid.

Our chickens:

We currently have 3 roosters. Cassian who is a Blue Wheaton Ameraucana. We purchased him locally and he is with 11 hens. We have a Rhode Island Red (Southern Charm Feed), Buff Orpington (Southern Charm Feed), Ameraucana (From Wonder Hooves Dairy Farm) , Black sex-link (Southern Charm Feed), Black Copper Marans (Some are from Hayward Hens Homestead & Bakery and some are from Bexley Farms)

Next we have Azriel, He is a welsummer rooster from Wonder Hooves Dairy Farm. He has a Whiting True Blue (From a local farm), Crested Cream Legbar (Hayward Hens Homestead & Bakery), Americana (Arnall Grocery Newnan), Easter Egger (Local Farm), Olive Eggers (Our farm).

Last we have Rysand, He is a Black Copper Maran & Welsummer mix. We hatched him from eggs from Bexley Farms. He has Olive Eggers (Local Farms), Lavender Orpington (Southern Charm Feed), Olive eggers (Our Farm).

The roosters that are at our farm are ones that have very good temperaments. We do not keep mean roosters, as that can be a genetic issue and we don't want someone else getting a mean rooster.

Each of our chickens are important to us. We make sure they have good feed, clean water, and a safe place to roost. We also love seeing our customers hatch out chicks or buy them and seeing them as they grow. So please, tag us on social media!
